Product Reviews

  • Surprise!

The bars are surprisingly very good. It doesn't take long at all to get past the cricket flour. I told my cross country skiing friends than then bars will put an extra kick in their glide.

  • Crickets taste like food...

They taste pretty good and have some fiber, so that's cool. Great alternative to a candy bar or a protein bar filled with refined carbs and gluten. Great texture

  • #1 Pick

Served the Chapul bars to a function of 50-60 people and the Chaco Bar was by far the favorite - great flavor - cant beat peanut butter and chocolate

  • BONZA

In our Australian vernacular i have to say.....Bewdy, no worries mate you are on a winner. Just received the Aztec bars. Just perfect for me and will be buying more. Love what youre doing..Keep it up.

  • Chaco is my favorite flavor, but Thai is also great

I absolutely love these bars and never buy any other type of protein bar anymore. I have to agree with another reviewer about the Aztec flavor, though, it's dry and gritty and the flavor isn't wonderful.

I used to like Chaco flavor less than Thai, but now Chaco is my favorite flavor. The Thai has a bit of a kick from the ginger and a delightfully complex mix of flavors, which I like, but the Chaco has a nice, subtle chocolate flavor mixed with the chewy, delicious dates and peanut crunch. (I am making myself hungry!)

I've started eating these as a treat/snack day-to-day and not just a protein bar to have occasionally while hiking/camping and after working out. I am addicted and have a bit of a self-control problem when it comes to eating Chaco bars!!

The newer package is tougher to open. It's a bit of a pain and I sometimes need to use scissors.

  • Great taste, good ingredients .

Enjoyed this bar very much, satisfying and not as sweet as many other bars on market. Going to order another box right now. Agree with many of the other comments, would like to see a higher protein version aka more cricket!

  • Wide taste variation

You'd never know there were crickets in these bars. While the Thai bars are great as in 5 star I'd buy them again great, the Chaco bars just so-so, like mediocre quiki-mart brownies. I'm sorry to say I thought the Aztec bars were dreadful, as in why bother eating these. I admit I'm not a fan of spicy chocolate, but this was not about the cayenne but rather the muddy taste and dried up consistency.

  • Happy Mother's Day

This is my 12 year old son's favorite flavor and we will keep ordering these bars. I am so happy that he likes this product not only for its nutrition but also it is a great catalyst for gaining acceptance of cricket flour as well as building continued support for water conservation projects. My one suggestion for the next generation of bars is more cricket flour protein so that the ratio of protein to sugar shifts higher.

  • Smooth, rich, delicious.

The choco is so unbelievably delicious and satisfying. It absolutely hits the spot, without being overwhelmingly sweet OR bitter. Just rich, thick, and chocolaty.

  • unique in a good sense

when I visited Asia all I ate was food from the Hard Rock Cafe and it was Westernized food. I would have liked to tasted something culturally original even if it consisted of insects in the food. crickets taste pretty decent actually.
