Our original flavor. Inspired by the highly efficient Chaco peoples, a pre-Columbian civilization in the Colorado River Watershed, we have cooked up a delicious blend of dates, chocolate and peanuts, and Omega-3's from flax and walnuts. Fortified with Chapul cricket protein flour, of course, giving you the sustenance you need to feed the revolution.

Nice balance of peanut and chocolate. My students all enjoyed them (I run a bug fair for a college entomology class).

I'm using the bars as a recovery snack after workouts. I love the concept and your mission statement.
I've given several bars to friends to try. Patrick you and your crew should be proud you have a great product. Best of luck to you.

Very palatable despite the psychological hump of "eating" bugs. I agree, a little too sweet, and would like to see an increase in protein, less carbohydrates. I gave some to friends, who were happy to see that the crickets weren't suspended whole in some hardened concoction. I will continue to spread the word and will eventually try the other flavor. Hope they become available locally (SF Bay Area) rather than by mail.

Found out about these bars from a guy at work who actually is a self-avowed insectophobe. (His wife chases the spiders out.)
Bought them because I want to expand my protein footprint (been vegetarian, made tofu, raised snails, etc.) Also bought them as a joke for my friend. Got them in, shared them, enjoyed them. Recurring theme- where's the bugs. Chaco bars very good, very satisfying. A little sweet, too much date (that was the other complaint). If we didn't know it was hasenpfeffer, we'd swear it was casein. Looking forward to distribution in SF Bay area. Will buy these all day long. Looking forward to trying Thai bar.

I ordered a box of each to take to a meeting of colleagues from around the state. First I tried one of each and loved both of them! They are moist, flavorful and VERY satisfying. I love that they are all healthy ingredients!
At the meeting, both flavors were big hits! None of my colleagues were remotely phased by the cricket flour ingredient. The bars were a great snack mid meeting and several people took an extra one with them for the plane ride home!
I travel a lot and Chapul Bars will now be automatically packed in my carry-on bag each trip!

The Chaco Chapul has the stable consistency of food and the impactful flavor of delicious. This may be one of the bars that doesn't have cricket in it, because I didn't taste any... what do crickets taste like anyway.
No legs, no wings, Chaco-Chapul was just tasty-good food bar.
While my recommendation would be to size up the serving, really, it's rightly portioned, they're just soo good... om nom nom.
