Being that our very name, Chapul, is derived from the Aztec language of Nahuatl we felt it was time to honor the region with its very own bar. A nut free offering, the Aztec Bar is a simple combination of dates, cocoa, coffee beans, cricket flour and a late blooming wave of cayenne heat. By mixing the sweet, bitter and spicy we've created a flavor that's quickly becoming our most popular. Order today and enjoy the bold kick from our Aztec Bar!

Product Reviews

  • why do i feel like rubbing my legs together??

Just kidding! I love these bars and my customers really enjoy the spice/coffee/chocolate. The box lasted 3 days!

  • VERY Fun

We loved this bar. Right up there with the Chaco flavor. The infusion of chipotle and coffee was a great curve ball for our taste buds. Again, we wish the protein was doubled the amount of grams (at least) and sugar be decreased some.

  • WOW!...best yet

It just keeps gettin better. Love the chocolate with a tad-o-coffee crunch and the teeny weenie afterburn of the cayanne. Fantastic combo. We finished our first box of 12 and ordered two more boxes.
Great for surf trips. If the cayanne zip isn't your cup of tea, I'd suggest either of the other two flavor varieties. We love them all but this one's our fav. Keep up the good work. Gee what''s next????..

  • Excellent flavour!

These are as good as I would make, if I could make them! The heat factor was perfect and nice deep chocolate taste with good coffee overtones. YUMMMM!

It would be even better if the wrap were made of something more sustainable, like recycled paper.

  • Aztec bars

Too much cayenne but moist, rich and their wise delish!

  • Not as weird as you think

I've had the Aztec flavor and I heartedly endorse them. If you are curious what cricket flour is like I would say I couldn’t pick it out by flavor but there is a slight change in texture – it is slightly fibrous in an unusual way.

  • Not crazy about it

Definitely an interesting flavor but not one that I really enjoy. I'm not looking for a spicy energy bar. Maybe I'll be more upbeat about the Aztec bar by the time I finish the box. If not, I'll continue to order the Chacos and let other people enjoy the Aztecs.
